City of Manchester Ladies Hockey Club invites you to take part in an amazing sponsorship opportunity!
City of Manchester Hockey Club are holding a “sponsor raffle”. The winner becomes the club kit sponsor for the new season and your company logo will be printed on our shirts!
The deal
You buy a raffle ticket for just £25 and you get 1 entry per ticket into our prize draw. You can buy multiple tickets if you wish. The draw will take place at the end of September (date tbc). The winning sponsor will be informed directly and will also be announced on our website. We are also hoping to involve the local press. The sponsor will have their name/logo printed on our playing shirts.
Who are City of Manchester Ladies?
Our ladies section form part of the larger City of Manchester Hockey Club consisting of 4 male and 3 female teams. Our Ladies 1st XI play in the Greater Manchester Women’s Hockey League Division 1, with the second and third XI playing in Division 3 & 4 respectively. We play up to 24 matches (per team) per season throughout the Greater Manchester and Cheshire area. Our home pitch is at the newly refurbished Armitage Centre (University of Manchester Sports Ground), which is a unique combined sports venue and the only hockey venue within the UK to house 4 hockey pitches. With an additional all weather football and rugby pitch, plus several grass pitches, this gives us the opportunity to get your company name out to hundreds of people each week as hockey, lacrosse, football and rugby are played throughout the weekend with back to back hockey bookings from 10am through to 5pm across 4 pitches.
That’s a lot of publicity without the cost of press coverage!
We are also hoping to get match reports published in the local papers and your company logo can be included on our website. We can also offer publicity through the usual social media routes (Facebook, Twitter etc)
Why does the club need a sponsor?
Our Ladies section has never had a dedicated kit for all 3 teams. The Ladies first XI had shirts purchased from club funds over 4 years ago, at this time the current ladies’ kit was handed to the 2nd XI. This kit was purchased following a small sponsorship deal that wasn’t renewed. The 3rd XI are still playing in some very worn out polo shirts that were purchased 10 years ago when the Ladies section formed.
As 2017 sees our 10 year anniversary of the Ladies section we would welcome the opportunity to purchase new playing kit across all 3 teams. £25 is sufficient to buy one playing shirt and includes club logo embroidery plus the printing costs for the winning company logo. If each member sells one raffle ticket, our kit issues can be resolved without the need to source a larger scale sponsorship deal, which is rarely attainable in the current financial climate.
What do you do next?
If you would like the opportunity to take part in our sponsorship raffle email Mandy Pickersgill at [email protected] with details of your company name, address and how many tickets you would like to buy. Tickets will then be emailed through and your company name will be entered into the draw.
Payment can be by cheque, cash or direct transfer into our bank account. Details of the bank account will be sent upon confirmation. Cash can also be handed to individual players who may have approached your company.
